Johannesburg, 7 May 2026 – Lepas South Africa has announced Noluthando Zondi from Hammarsdale as the winner of a brand new Lepas L4, following a high-engagement social media competition that drew over three thousand comments and nearly five thousand unique engagements.
Zondi, who is also known as Luh or Thandoh, manages a small clothing boutique from home while working as a telecom operator at Northdale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. Her entry into the competition came after being tagged by her sister, prompting her to participate and tag others in return.
“I was tagged by my sister and decided to enter as well,” she says. “When I received a message saying I had won, I genuinely thought it was a joke.”
Initially hesitant to share her personal details, Zondi admits she was unsure whether the notification was legitimate. “I thought it might be a scam. I was reluctant at first, but eventually decided to go ahead and send my details. My heart was pounding and I was sweating. I even called my husband because I could not believe it.”
Now behind the wheel of her new Lepas L4, the experience is beginning to feel real. “Driving the car feels amazing. It is very smooth and comfortable, and I feel safe on the road,” she says. “I love how it looks and how it drives. It really is a beautiful car.”
Her win has already sparked strong interest within her community, with many eager to learn more about both the vehicle and the brand. “People want to see the car, they want to test drive it, and they are asking more about Lepas. It has really sparked interest,” she adds.
The Lepas L4 reflects the brand’s focus on combining modern design with everyday functionality. The model features a refined exterior, a spacious and comfortable interior, and intuitive in-car technology designed to support daily driving. With a strong balance of efficiency, safety and convenience, the L4 is well suited to the needs of South African drivers.
For Zondi, the impact of winning the vehicle goes beyond the product itself. “This is such an amazing gift. I still do not believe it. I have never imagined myself winning something this big in my life,” she says. “I am looking forward to safe travels and spending time with my nieces and nephews. I am a very popular aunt.”
“The competition forms part of the brand’s broader commitment to connecting with local communities and creating meaningful experiences for customers.” Says Jay Jay Botes, General Manager of Lepas South Africa. “At Lepas, we are focused on building real relationships with our customers. This competition was about celebrating everyday South Africans and giving something back in a way that is both exciting and meaningful. Noluthando’s story is a powerful example of that connection in action.”
At home, the excitement continues. “The only problem is my husband,” she jokes. “He is completely taken by the car. You would think he is the one who won it.”
Zondi’s story reflects the growing connection between Lepas and South African consumers, as well as the impact of creating authentic, community-driven brand moments.
