Against the backdrop of globalization and sustainable development, LEPAS, a new energy brand under Chery Group focused on green mobility, is steadily advancing innovation and practice in sustainability. On September 4th local time, Chery signed the Vision Initiative for Sustainable Brand Building at the Palace of Nations in Geneva, injecting strong momentum into LEPAS' sustainable growth.
The High-Level Dialogue on "Sustainable Business and Brand Building" was co-hosted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Forum on Sustainable Standards (UNFSS), the China Association for Standardization (CAS), and the Sustainable Business and Brand Committee (SBBC) under CAS. As the sole representative of the automotive industry, Chery signed the Vision Initiative together with 23 other enterprises, including Anta and CATL, becoming one of the first corporate members of the initiative.
Launched by the SBBC under CAS on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the Vision Initiative for Sustainable Brand Building represents a collective commitment by leading Chinese enterprises to pursue sustainability with higher aspirations and stricter standards, aiming to build world-class companies and brands. The initiative not only responds to the international community's call for corporate leadership in sustainability but also demonstrates the Chinese business community's determination to promote responsible growth.
Chery actively responds to the global call for sustainable development and has deeply integrated the ESG concept into its corporate strategy and daily operations. At the dialogue session, Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Group, stated that by joining the initiative, Chery is embedding sustainability into its strategy, operations, products, and services—striving to make the world safer, greener, and better. This philosophy is also reflected in the development of all Chery brands.
As an overseas-oriented brand focusing on youth and intelligence, LEPAS has embedded sustainability into its DNA since inception. At the 2025 Indonesia International Auto Show, LEPAS' first model, the L8, made a stunning debut and attracted market attention with its "positive new energy" concept. This confidence stems from Chery's technological strength and active exploration of sustainability. Equipped with Chery's super hybrid system, the LEPAS L8 achieves an industry-leading thermal efficiency of 44.5%, with fuel consumption as low as 4.2L/100km when the battery is depleted and a range of over 1,300 kilometers. This not only means lower carbon emissions but also reflects efficient resource utilization. In zero-fuel mode, the air conditioning system can operate continuously for four hours, balancing energy conservation, environmental protection, and user comfort.
In terms of design, LEPAS draws inspiration from the "leopard aesthetic," combining power with elegance, and embodies the philosophy of symbiosis between technology and nature. Inside, it creates an "exquisite third space" with high-quality materials and intelligent cockpit technology, offering users comprehensive health protection from the outside in.
Behind this lies Chery Group's full-chain green ecosystem covering R&D, production, global sales, and service networks. In recent years, Chery Group has achieved remarkable results in ESG: it was selected for the "2025 Forbes China ESG Impact List" and became the only automotive enterprise on the "2024–2025 Forbes China Sustainable Development Industrial Enterprises List." Joining this UN-framework initiative is not only recognition of Chery Group's past efforts but also a commitment to its future. As the international carrier of this philosophy, LEPAS will continue to deepen its sustainable vision, deliver greener and higher-quality mobility experiences, and contribute Chinese brand strength to global sustainable development goals.
